Mona Lisa

One of my acquaintances told me a story that  when he saw Mona Lisa in the Louvre Museum in his childhood, her eyes have followed him even when he moved.

Paintings move though they are not supposed to move.
But in a way it should naturally move.
Because we, creating a relationship with paintings in the act of watching, never stop moving even for a moment.
Our eyes cannot strictly stare at a single point, but always subtly shaking.
And not only eyes but our perception and recognition system led by the brain is as a whole ever-active existence.

The chasing eyes may simply be physiological phenomena.
Even so, what’s still puzzling to me is that most paintings are not felt as lively moving.
Because in my heart, I believe that paintings must move or they must make us forget about they are not moving.
