コラージュは自分自身が創ったものではない、外部の素材と出会うことから始まる。
制作では前もってイメージを持ち、その実現をコントロールしていく必要も術もない。
次の角を曲がって誰に会うか、そもそもそれが人間であるかどうかも私たちが知らないように。
私たちはただ、偶発的に様々な他者や事象と出会い、それが好きになったり敵対したり、
あるいは無視したりして、外部との関係を組み上げていくだけだ。
それが自分や社会にとってより魅力的で刺激に満ちたものとなるように。
コラージュは生きることに似た成り立ちを持っている。
だから、コラージュにおいて追求され鑑賞されるものも、それがイメージとして、
「リアルであること」に他ならない。
Making of collage begins with meeting external materials not created by the artist themselves.
There is no need or a way to have an image in advance and to intentionally control its realization.
Like in the situation we don’t know who we’ll come across at the next corner, and even whether it’s human or not.
We just happen to encounter various people and events, then build up relationships with the outside world by liking, becoming hostile or ignoring them, in order to make such relations attractive and inspiring to ourselves and society.
So, collage is like living.
Therefore, what is pursued and appreciated in a collage is nothing but “reality” as an image.
